Airtel Experiences Widespread Outage; Users Report Mobile and Broadband Issues
Airtel is currently experiencing a significant service outage across India, prompting numerous complaints from users about their mobile and broadband services. Many customers took to social media to voice their frustrations, indicating widespread connectivity problems.
According to data from Downdetector, the majority of outages were reported around 11 a.m. on Thursday, with 46% of users experiencing a "total blackout," while 32% reported "no signal" and 22% faced issues with mobile connections by noon.
Despite not issuing an official statement initially, Airtel India responded to the situation as complaints surged online. The company announced that they expected to resolve the outage by 2:20 p.m. "We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your feedback. We're aware of the outage in your area, which will be fixed by 2:22 p.m. today," said a representative named Ajay S.
Airtel’s customer service team, Airtel Cares, reassured users on social media, asking for their details to assist with the issues. They confirmed, "We understand your concerns about the temporary connectivity problems and expect services to resume within two hours."
Users continued to share their experiences on social media, with one posting about a complete loss of network in Gujarat and another mentioning an outage in Ahmedabad. Complaints highlighted a feeling of being transported back to an era with no network service, and requests for estimated resolution times flooded in.
As Airtel works to address the situation, affected customers remain hopeful for a swift restoration of services.
